The Entrepreneur Business Category
An applicant needs a total of $300,000 CAD investment and a personal net worth of $500,000 CAD in the Yellowknife area, or a $150,000 CAD investment and a net worth amounting to $250,000 CAD if outside the Yellowknife area. Part of the requirement is showing a proposal to purchase a business in the Northwest Territories.
The Self-Employed Business Class
To apply for permanent residency, the applicant needs their job or profession listed in the shortage of professional skills in the Northwest Territories. In line with this is the need to hold a certification and license as proof of your qualification. As a professional worker you need to be familiar with the Northwest Territories’ culture and economic issues. You need to be financially stable to start the practice of your profession and to sustain you and your dependents. Once you know you can qualify for this class you may submit a business plan related to your profession.
